Welcome to Term 3 . Here is our term newsletter . If you scroll down the page you will see some important dates to mark. Looking forward to seeing you on the 8th of August for the student led conferences.
Remember that cross country is on the 14th of August . The year 4 children will be doing 2 laps this year. As it is so muddy could you please ensure the children have a change of clothes. We are also having Korean lessons this term which the children are enjoying immensely.
As part of our Inquiry, the students could opt into an activity to enhance their cultural experience.
Room 9 - Mrs Broadhurst - Poi Making
Room 10 - Ms Krishnamurthy - KPop
Room 14 - Mrs Seo - Chinese Calligraphy
Room 15 - Mrs Busch - Bollywood Dancing
All the students had a lot of fun and embraced the different cultures and experiences.

Team Broadhurst Newsletter -  YEAR 4
              Term 3  2019

Kia Ora, and Welcome to Term 3.

We hope you have had a safe and relaxing holiday with your family. This term we are immersing ourselves in ‘The Arts’ curriculum. The students will be researching cultural dance, music or visual art, to answer a question they have formed. They will be investigating different cultures and identifying the stories, or messages, that the dance, music or art tell, throughout movement, sound and the art choices, the artists have made. Then the students will be creating a dance or a piece of music, which tells their own story.  We will also be having a shared lunch and each class will send home more information about this, later in the term.

As you are aware, Rooms 11-13 have been undergoing renovations and our new learning space will be ready shortly.  The Year 4 classes of 9, 10, and 15 will be moving in to these in Term 3, between weeks two and three. We are very excited about the move, as this space has been carefully planned with the students learning in mind. There is a range of furniture and spaces, to ensure the aesthetics of the space are appealing to the students. Once we have an official move in date, we will let you know, and from that point onwards, please feel free to come and visit us.  If you have any questions or queries, please contact Kristin Broadhurst via email kbroadhurst@marinaview.school.nz

Winter Uniform: Please ensure your child wears the correct uniform as it gets colder. If your child gets cold they can wear short sleeved thermals for extra warmth. Polar fleeces are necessary and girls can wear black or navy stockings. Please no boots (as they're not suitable for school), coloured tights, fluro shoelaces or long sleeve thermals under polo shirts.   Sun hats are not required in terms 2 and 3. In general, there has been a very good turnout of children wearing the correct uniform this term. Our students are looking very smart. Keep it up. Please name all items of uniform.

Please ensure all students are collected from school at 3.00pm, or attend after school care.  The safety of all students is really important.
If your child is sick, we ask that you please keep them at home as this avoids spreading germs.
